October Focus: Better Together
Every day, we rely on the people around us to get things done. Some days are easy. Others are busy, stressful, and unpredictable. That's when great teammates matter most.
Teamwork isn't about always agreeing. It's about supporting one another, sharing information, following through, and being willing to help. Sometimes a quick check-in or a simple "How can I help?" can make all the difference.
What Does Being a Good Teammate Look Like?
Being a good teammate doesn't mean you have to do everything or solve every problem. Sometimes it's as simple as doing what you said you would do, keeping others informed, helping when you can, or speaking up when something needs attention.
It's also about recognizing that everyone has good days and bad days. We all get overwhelmed, make mistakes, forget things, or have moments when we're not at our best. Giving each other a little patience and grace can go a long way.
The best teams aren't made up of perfect people. They're made up of people who are willing to support each other and keep moving forward.

Small Things Can Make a Big Difference
Think about the last time you had a really busy day. Maybe a coworker stepped in to help, answered a question, shared something you needed, or simply noticed that you were having a tough time.
Those moments may not seem like much, but they're often the things we remember.
Teamwork happens in these everyday moments. It can be helping someone finish a task, making sure the next shift has the information they need, showing a new team member the ropes, or taking a few extra minutes to help someone figure something out.
You don't have to do something big to be a great teammate. Sometimes, just being there makes a difference.
Try the “How Can I Help?” Habit
What if one simple question could make someone's day a little easier?
This month, challenge yourself to ask:
“How can I help?”
Small acts of support can have a big impact. Helping doesn't mean taking on someone else's workload or solving every problem. It could be as simple as answering a quick question, sharing a resource, offering a fresh perspective, or lending a hand with a small task.
And if you're not able to help right now, that's okay. Sometimes the greatest gift is simply letting someone know they're not alone and that support is available when they need it.
Together, these small moments of connection create a stronger, more collaborative team where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
This month, make "How can I help?" your go-to question and see what a difference it can make.
When Teamwork Gets Tough
Let's be honest. Working with others isn't always easy. We all bring different personalities, communication styles, experiences, and perspectives to the table. That means there will be times when we disagree or experience misunderstandings.
When that happens, take a step back and remember that everyone is working toward the same goal: doing their best and helping the team succeed.
Instead of focusing on who's at fault, ask, “How can we move forward?”
Instead of making assumptions, ask a question.
Instead of letting frustration build, start a conversation.
And when someone makes a mistake, lead with grace. We've all been there.
Strong teams aren't defined by the absence of challenges. They're defined by how they work through them together.

Team Check-In
How are we doing?
Ask yourself:
Can my team count on me?
Do I communicate what others need to know?
Do I offer help when I can?
Do I recognize the people around me?
“What kind of teammate do I want to be?”
You don't have to change everything. Start with one small thing and see what happens.
Better Together
Different roles. Different strengths. One team.
Every person brings something important to Saber. When we communicate, support one another, and do our part, we create stronger teams and better experiences for the people we serve.
Your role matters. Your team matters. You matter.
